Inspired by the compassionate teachings of Sri Saradha Devi, the organisation nurtures children with love, discipline and opportunity so they can grow into confident and independent individuals.
About Us
Sri Saradha Devi Illam Malaysia is a welfare home dedicated to protecting and nurturing underprivileged girls who come from difficult backgrounds such as orphanhood, single-parent families or families facing severe economic hardship.
The organisation provides a safe environment where children receive not only shelter and daily care, but also education, emotional support and opportunities for personal growth.
Guided by values of compassion, discipline and spiritual awareness, Sri Saradha Devi Illam focuses on developing children holistically so they can build a meaningful and independent future.
Our Background
Sri Saradha Devi Illam Malaysia was established with the aspiration of providing a safe home for children who lack proper care and support in their early lives. Many children face challenges due to poverty, loss of parents or family difficulties, and the Illam was created to ensure they are not left without protection and guidance.
The vision to establish this welfare home originated from Sri La Sri Paramahamsathasar, who dreamed of creating a sanctuary for underprivileged children inspired by the compassion and spiritual legacy of Sri Saradha Devi.
The home began its journey in the late 1990s, initially caring for both boys and girls. Over time, the organisation recognised the need for a dedicated welfare home specifically for girls.
In 1998, the children were relocated to a bungalow in Rawang, Selangor. As the number of children increased, the organisation expanded its facilities and eventually operated from multiple houses to accommodate the growing needs of the children.
Today, Sri Saradha Devi Illam provides shelter and care to more than 50 girls from various backgrounds, continuing its long tradition of compassion and service.
Throughout its history, the Illam has supported and transformed the lives of over 500 children.
