Empowering The Students Through Skills Training Talk by Dr Kumaran To Children of Persatuan Kebajikan Karunai Illam

A talk on skills training for children of Persatuan Kebajikan Karunai Illam @ Saiva Siddhanta was conducted by Dr Kumaran, the President of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram.

The objective of this talk is to expose the children of Persatuan Kebajikan Karunai Illam on the various benefits of skills training program as well as to share the skills training experiences of children from Sri Saradha Devi Ashram to the others.

Dr Kumaran also briefed the children on the various paths that they could pursue after taking up skills training.

In addition, he also spoke and discussed with the Management of Persatuan Kebajikan Karunai Illam on the procedures to commence SKM program at their association.

It’s Examination Day – Diploma in Baking & Pastries by Arudra Cakery & Training

After learning for almost a year, it was finally the Diploma Certification examination day for children of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram for their Culinary Arts – Baking & Pastries.

The classes and examination for this Diploma Certification was conducted by Mrs Mahalakshmy from Arudra Cakery & Training. This examination provided children with an opportunity to display their talents and skills that they have learned over the year.

Overall, the Management of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram are happy with the performances of the children during the examination. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Mahalakshmy for her dedication and teaching to the children of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram. We would also like to thank our donors who have helped to make this examination a successful one.

We wish all children a heartiest congratulations and all the best for passing this examination.

Women Development Program by Majlis Perbandaran Selayang (MPS) Zon 16 – Baking & Pastries

MPS Zon 16 organised a Women Development Program in collaboration with Sri Saradha Devi Ashram. This whole day program was about baking and pastries and was participated by 50 participants from Sri Saradha Devi Ashram, Persatuan Kebajikan Karunai Illam, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitulrahmah as well as some single mothers.

All participants were guided by Ms Savira David Letchumanan, a well-experienced chef, currently attached with Double Tree by Hilton. Ms Savira taught the participants on various new baking techniques and cake frosting.

Sri Saradha Devi Ashram would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Savira for her guidance as well as MPS Zon 16 for organising this fruitful event.

Great Stepping Milestone – Skills Certification Level 3 cum Diploma in Early Childhood Education!!!

In August 2021, all children aged 15 and above at Sri Saradha Devi Ashram has commenced their Skills Certification Level 3 cum Diploma in Early Childhood Education offered by My Business Academy. This is another great stepping milestone towards their success in future. They will continue with their Diploma after the completion of certification and would be pursuing their degree courses later on. We wish all the children best of luck for their education and would like to see all of them with flying colors in the future.

MINI HERO Charity Event: Financial Talk 2020

On 8 August 2020, a Financial Talk was conducted by Mini Hero for the children of Sri Saradha Devi Charity & Welfare Association. The talk provided the children with knowledge of income, liability and investments which will be beneficial for them in the future.

The volunteers also conducted a Slime Activity for the young ones while the elder ones were having the talk. It was truly an eye-opener talk for all children as they have not been exposed to investments prior to this.

Food Handling Course by Ministry of Health Malaysia

A food handling course have been conducted for children and members of Sri Saradha Devi Ashram to raise awareness of the importance of preparing and handling food in a clean manner. The course was conducted by a personnel from the Ministry of Health. All attendees were presented with certificates at the end of the course.

Educational Summit for Underprivileged B40 Youths Together with Putra Intelek International College

Importance of Educating Orphans

Wonderful people have stretched their hands thousands of miles from where they are reaching out to needy children in the world and giving them the most precious thing in the world that is education. It’s much appreciation from me for the effort you are making to reach these orphan children here in Sri Saradha Devi Ashram Rawang. These children have come along way from around Malaysia. It’s such a wonderful heart the action of giving these children since these people don’t expect anything in return from these children in future.

Education is the key to a good life. It gives one hope that, after completing the recommended phase, one will live a good life and afford the basic needs in life.

An orphaned child is usually an already traumatized child, psychologically due to the loss of parents and needs to be handled with care. One way of helping this child to live for a better normal life, is by first ensuring he gets the basic things like food, shelter, clothing then followed by the vital education. When this child is given education, he feels secure and aims at improving his life.

But no matter what, education is the key that allows people to move up in the world, seek jobs and ultimately succeed fully in life. Education is very important and no one should be deprived of it. Whether an orphan or any other person in life.

We want to put a smile on the faces of these orphans and give them hope of a better future. We cater for the education of these orphaned children and we hope to assist more and more in accessing education in future.

All they need is someone to believe in their dreams and give them a chance for a better future. Sri Saradha Devi Ashram Malaysia promises that we will work along with children, communities and others to ensure that All children will be healthy and well nourished…

Through Child Sponsorship programme, you can be the ray of hope in a child’s life. For RM350.00 every month, you can sponsor a child. Your sponsorship will provide a child with access to education, proper health care and clean drinking water. The child’s family and community will also benefit through development initiatives and livelihood special projects through the dedicated work of our staff in Ashram.

In order to achieve our mission, we have developed programs that are considered as a means for us to achieve the objectives.

Big Brother Big Sister Program

Transform lives by engaging and mentoring children. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister, contribute towards a child’s development and take home fulfilling memories.

Sponsor a Child

This program provides for an underprivileged child’s living expenses, including education. This initiative offers you an opportunity to develop a one-to-one relationship with a child.

Sponsor a Meal

Sponsor a day’s meal for children on special occasions by donating RM 300 – RM 400 depending on the menu of your choice.

Sponsor Education

As a sponsor, you will be closely involved with the child’s development. You will receive a profile of the child along with a photograph. You will correspond and meet the child. Also, you will get regular updates on the progress of the child, including his/her education in school and during tuition classes.

Volunteering at the children’s home is a very popular program with volunteers. Participants forge close bonds with children whose disposition and attitude belie their difficult circumstances. The types of volunteering projects/programs you could be involved will include:
