RAWANG, SELANGOR — Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Saradha Devi Illam Malaysia (SSDI) has achieved another significant institutional milestone after receiving approval for qualifying donations made to the organisation to be eligible for tax deduction under Subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.

The approval is effective from 1 June 2026 until 31 May 2031 under reference number LHDN.AG.600-16/1/108.8998.

For SSDI, the approval represents an important step in strengthening the organisation’s governance, accountability and long-term sustainability, while providing additional encouragement for individuals and organisations wishing to support the welfare and development of the children under its care.

A Significant Milestone for SSDI

For decades, Sri Saradha Devi Illam Malaysia has depended on the generosity of donors, well-wishers, organisations and community partners to continue its work in providing shelter, education, care and development opportunities to underprivileged girls.

The approval under Subsection 44(6) provides formal recognition that qualifying donations made to Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Saradha Devi Illam Malaysia may be eligible for tax deduction, subject to the applicable requirements.

This means that donors supporting SSDI can contribute towards the welfare and future of the children while also receiving the relevant tax benefit where the conditions prescribed by the authorities are fulfilled.

Strengthening Trust and Accountability

The approval is also significant because it reinforces SSDI’s commitment to responsible administration and proper documentation of donations received.

Official donation receipts issued by SSDI will carry the relevant approval details and effective period in accordance with the applicable requirements.
